IN A HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL OUTCOME, KEVIN BURNS WON BY TKO OVER ANTHONY JOHNSON AT 3:35 OF THE THIRD ROUND

It originally looked like Burns caught Johnson with an uppercut dropping him right to the canvas at which point the referee stopped the fight. The fallen Johnson immediately rolled over and told the referee that he received a finger direct into his right eye. The replay confirmed that indeed he did get a finger in the eye and the uppercut did in fact miss him. This is a good reason to have instant replay in the event of something happening that the referee, through no fault of his own was out of position to see. With the entire arena expecting a DQ in favor of Johnson, it was announced as a TKO victory for Burns at 3:35 of round three.
